The race of pandaren is different from other races in Azeroth. The difficulty in creating the race is to keep its uniqueness. What’s more, they have to avoid making the class too powerful. Otherwise, all of the players will choose pandarens. If taurens best collocate warrior, players in horde may think choosing other races or races that they like is sacrificing. As for pandarens, their artistic designing and action is wonderful. But their skills are supposed to be not that powerful because they should balance among different races. The biggest difference of pandarens is they can choose between alliance and horde. Blizzard has never done that before. This point is unique. Besides, the characters are cultural. Trolls are like Jamaicans. Draenei have accent of Eastern Europe. Pandarens are in Asian style. Besides monk, other characters are good masters of martial arts, including their hairstyle.

As for the strong points of races, blizzard gives pandarens additional bonus of cooking, eating, and resting. It makes upgrading 90 lvl easier. They also get mysterious martial skills, paralyzing enemies through hitting at certain acupoints. Pandarens are able to bounce to lessen dmg of fall. As pandarens are classic and lofty like other races, blizzard grants them strong body. Of course, these are original design. They will be different when they are issued. When blizzard is considering whether they should add a new class, they are hesitant. It is not easy. They spend much time on making the class interesting and balancing between them. The new class should be brew master or a monk mastering brewing. Now they decided to make brewer tank.
